Mom’s invention gives breasts a lift

September 4, 2009

Like many new moms, Mandy Krammel found that after the birth of her first child, her breasts weren’t what they used to be. Bras no longer seemed to fit properly, and surgery wasn’t an option.

So Krammel, sometimes experimenting with baby barrettes, began developing prototypes for a product that would tweak the bras she already owned. It took three years to get a patent approved, but 10 weeks ago, Tweakerz launched.

A strap of hypoallergenic material with snap closures, it pulls straps close together in back, lifting and supporting breasts, with the option of creating va-va-voomy cleavage.

“I wear it and use it everyday, with all my different bras, ” Krammel says. “It seem like something so simple, but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked.”

Manufactured in Pam Beach County, Tweakerz works best for women who wear sizes 32B to 36D, but the West Palm Beach stay-at-home mom and freelance makeup artist is already working on two products to address sizes outside of that range.

“And when this came up, I had something inside me that said, ‘Keep going. You’re on the right path.’”

Tweakerz is a Luckie Street Boutique in Delray Beach, Diva’s Plus in The Mall at Wellington Green, Shop on Impulse in Boynton Beach and Alene Too in Boca Raton. Or it can be ordered online for $14.95 plus shipping at www.tweakerz.com
